She's here!

January 22nd, 2010 at 7:33pm, Janice-May (Jayme) Rhianne Grider made her big entrance. I was in active labor for 6 hours and pushed for 15 minutes before meeting my sweet baby love. She weighed 5lbs 1oz. and measured 18 inches long. She has dark blue eyes and strawberry blonde wavy hair.

Isaiah is absolutly in love with her.
He's certain she needs to play with his cars and drink his milk.
Supervision is required. ☺

Patience...

Patience, above all else, is what is needed right now.

Do not let anxiousness or frustration take over.

Hold to your inner peace.

Reclaim your identity.

Trust your higher wisdom.

Look to the grander vision.

Do not agitate for a decision right now, nor seek an immediate solution.

Do not wish for an end to things as they are.

That end will come.

Yet let it arrive naturally.

Do not push the river.

Wait...

The Right Time is at hand.

I will see your face soon, my baby love.

Lesson Learned

Yesterday when I got home from work, I decided it would be a great idea to do some house work...lots of house work. I suppose the nesting instinct has kicked in - full swing. It didn't matter that I was thoroughly exhausted and 'enjoying' lots of Braxton Hicks contractions....I wanted to CLEAN!!!!

I took the Christmas decorations down and got them packed up, cleaned the kitchen, folded laundry, re-arranged furniture in the living room, and much to Isaiah's dismay, vacuumed. He has a strong dislike for the vacuum, to put it mildly. He cries and cries. It's rather pathetic. So I decided to console some of his horror I would carry him while I vacuumed. It went really well. I was so proud of myself. My back didn't even hurt. You'd think after vacuuming for 20 minutes while 35 weeks pregnant and carrying around a 25 lbs toddler your body would be looking for a lawyer to sue you for damages. But noooo, I was good to go.

Then I sat down to rest for a bit. When I tried to get up my right hip popped in protest. Fail. So I spent the evening attempting to get dinner ready with the right side of my body begging to be detached and left on a heating pad.

Note to self: Make a list of things you want to get done and work on it over a WEEK instead of over 4 hours.

Do not judge the journey by the path you're now on

Do not judge the journey by the path you're now on. Like Driving cross-country, you can't possibly know in advance if or where you may envounter detours, hairpin turns, or passing cars passing with noses and what not pressed to the window. Moreover, little, if any, of the scenery you travel through will remotely resemble the destination you have in mind. yet neither the "constellations" you see nor the unexpected maneuvers you take will ever mean you aren't headed exactly where you want to go, moving as swiftly as possible, getting closer every flipping day.

Road Trip!

Joy remains life's only inevitable

For every word I write, there might be misunderstanding. For every angle I take, a chance that something is missed. And between the days and weeks, for words taken too literally, contradictions will seem to appear.

But I write for the careful reader, knowing that others will read the very same words and miss understand. I write to hold up a light of remembrance for those who choose to remember, knowing there are others who don't, and that's just fine by me. There are no losers, no predefined paths, no requirements to understand the mechanics of time and space. Joy remains life's only inevitable.

Okay...it's time I started writing again.

I started this new blog so I would write more...and it's been over a year! Epic fail. So here's to starting again and posting more than once a year!

Cheers!

We are getting ready to add another baby to our little family. It's a GIRL!!! We're due in about 6 weeks. Jon is convinced that she'll be here early. So are Deborah and mom. I can't wait told hold her! It's been a bit of a crazy pregnancy...but what pregnancy isn't crazy, huh? Baby Janice-May Rhianne will be the 2nd girl born into the Grider family in the past 5 generations. Woah! Talk about a testosterone overload. Everyone is a bit excited as you can imagine.

While I was pregnant with Isaiah, I had a dream that we had a baby girl and her name was Janice May. My first thought was "uh...what a weird name." A few days later I found out that was Jon's grandmothers name. That convinced me that we would be having a daughter one way or another. Janice May didn't seem to do it once we saw the ultrasound, so we picked Rhianne as a middle name and her nickname is Jayme! It already fits her quite perfectly!

We discovered that the nursery needed more work than just paint so it's no where near done at the moment. Last night we did another layer of spackle. Tonight we (meaning Jon) will get the texturing done. Then hopefully we'll get a little painting in this weekend.

It's not like Jayme will notice her room not being done. The only things she'll care about are being fed, changed, burped and cuddled by her family. But I notice...I'm so restless with her room not being done. Maybe it's that nesting thing settling in...again.

Isaiah is understanding that there is a baby in mommy's tummy...or atleast we think he is. He get's rather upset when other people touch my belly. He says "No! Mine baby!" and pushes hands away. He also kisses and pats my tummy with the cutest little grin imaginable. I guess we'll see what he does in a few weeks when she makes her big entrance. Soon enough! I will be patient and wait!

Paint, Wall paper, stickers, Pooh...and a few tears

Last night was the beginning of making Isaiah's room 'Isaiah's room'. While he was sleeping, Jon and I put together a cabinet for his toys, stuck Pooh wall paper stickers to it and called it a 'work of art'.

After we finished this nail breaking task, we both just stared at him, asleep, cozy, and somewhat smiling. His reddish hair glistening from the bathroom light, his skin like an Angel. Jon looked at me and said "Only when he's sleeping, huh?" Psh...you got that right. He's an amazing baby, don't get me wrong...but like the rest of us, he has his moments (days and weeks. teehee).

The last couple weeks he's been someone of a tyrant. His cry tells it all. As soon as I look away from him he screams like someone is pinching him...it's tears, snot, and that pathetic look on his face that makes it near impossible for me to get ANYTHING done. As soon as I pay attention to him he's the picture of perfection. Which of course makes it inconceivable to be angry with him.

Anyway, moving on - so we just kind of stared at him for awhile. I honestly couldn't imagine my life with out him. He's the best thing that ever happened to me. We talked about his tears, but we'll leave mine to the imagination of the other mothers out there. He's just amazing! No matter how bad of a mood I'm in, or how sad I am, his little smile and giggles seem to make it all better. I can't ever stay mad at him for keeping me awake, or for throwing carrots in the floor I JUST mopped, or speaking of, screaming his cute little head off till I pay attention to him.
